With the Nature Positive Bill just around the corner in Wales, we are supporting the launch of a new Wales-wide campaign - Force for Nature - and you are invited!

Wildlife Trusts Wales represents the five Wildlife Trusts in Wales working together in partnership to protect wildlife. The Wildlife Trusts in Wales collectively speak on behalf of more than 24,000 members and manage over 200 nature reserves, covering more than 8,000 hectares of prime wildlife habitat, from rugged coastline to urban wildlife havens.

Players of People's Postcode Lottery support our work with wildlife, wild landscapes and local communities across England, Wales and Scotland. Funding in Wales goes towards inspiring people about our marine wildlife, re-introduction of Beavers in mid-Wales and re-connecting people of Cardiff about wildlife.

Applications for some large infrastructure projects are decided by Welsh Ministers instead of the local planning authority. These include energy projects, roads, railways and airports, dams and reservoirs and certain waste facilities, subject to various thresholds, and are called Developments of National Significance (DNS).

The Sustainability Appraisal, Strategic Environmental Assessment (often called SA/SEA), and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) are tests of the Local Development Plan (or Strategic Development Plan). They look at the effects of the plan on the environment, social, economic and cultural well-being, as well as the use of the Welsh language.

Wildlife Trusts Wales is working hard to protect nature in Wales for the future. We have three core objectives: demonstrate how nature works, inspire people and communities to take action for nature and to champion nature and our work through advocacy.
