Spending time in nature makes us happier and healthier.

The Wildlife Trusts believe that we are part of nature and that we depend on the natural world for our wellbeing and prosperity. Everything we value comes from nature and everything we do has an impact on it. We believe that nature should be a normal part of childhood and that wildlife should thrive across our landscape. However, nature is in crisis.

The landmark 2023 State of Nature Report has shown that the UK – already classified as one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries in the world – is continuing to allow nature to decline.

It has never been more evident that people care more about the state of their natural environment than ever before. With a general election on the horizon, it’s time politicians heard that message.

Stand for Nature Wales is a pan-Wales youth climate change project aimed to inspire and empower young people to take action for nature in their communities and beyond. The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Nature-friendly farming.

We are in the middle of a climate and nature emergency, and the two are inextricably linked. Climate change is driving nature’s decline, and the loss of wildlife and wild places leaves us ill-equipped to reduce carbon emissions and adapt to change.

The Wildlife Trusts are running a survey to find out what people in the UK really think about nature and how we, as a society, should protect it. Results will also help The Wildlife Trusts to hold the government to account over its environmental policies and priorities.
