Pied flycatcher
The pied flycatcher is a summer visitor, migrating here from West Africa to breed. Look for this small, black-and-white bird in woodland, parks and gardens, mostly in the west of the UK.

Temperate Rainforest Restoration
The Wildlife Trusts are working to restore approximately 1,755 hectares of temperate rainforest across the British Isles.
Undulate ray
The undulate ray has beautiful wavy patterns on its back, which helps it camouflage against the sandy seabed.

Ospreys, puffins, peregrines, owls...and more! Watch wildlife on webcams provided by Wildlife Trusts across the British Isles. Webcams allow an unrivaled view of intriguing behaviours: from courtship, nesting, and hatching to a peep into the first few weeks of a chick's life. Be warned - it's addictive viewing!
Protected Species
All wildlife is important, but some rare and threatened species and habitats have extra protection in law or policy.

Himalayan balsam
As its name suggests, Himalayan balsam is from the Himalayas and was introduced here in 1839. It now an invasive weed of riverbanks and ditches, where it prevents native species from growing.
Snow bunting
Only a few pairs of snow bunting breed here, so look out for this striking black-and-white bird in winter around Scotland, the North West and the East coast of England.
