We are working towards securing a wilder future for nature and wildlife in Wales.
Empowering people to take action
The work The Wildlife Trusts do to help people connect with nature and the wildlife around them. This is through providing access to nature, nature and wellbeing, volunteering, education and learning, events and training.
Advocacy
We work tirelessly to give nature a voice. We are facing a climate and ecological crisis, we must act now to secure a future for the wildlife of Wales and beyond. We work with Welsh Government as well as other partners to make sure that we are working towards nature's recovery in Wales.

Marsh frog
Europe's largest frog is not naturally found in the UK, but was introduced to Kent and has spread throughout the southeast.
Climate solutions
We are in the middle of a climate and nature emergency, and the two are inextricably linked. Climate change is driving nature’s decline, and the loss of wildlife and wild places leaves us ill-equipped to reduce carbon emissions and adapt to change.
Herring gull
The herring gull is the typical 'seagull' of our seaside resorts, though our coastal populations have declined in recent decades.
Planning and Development in Wales
The Wildlife Trusts believe that development should not come at the expense of our natural environment. All development, be it housing, commercial or infrastructure must be designed and delivered in a way that contributes to nature’s recovery, not its decline.

This common fungus puffs out clouds of spores when it's mature.
Net Benefit for Biodiversity
A net benefit means that a development should leave biodiversity and ecosystems in a better state than before. This should ideally be provided by improving and creating habitats on site, and maintaining them in the long term.
