We have pollinators to thank for every third mouthful we eat. Not only do they pollinate our food crops, but they’re also vital for the survival of other wild plants that support so much of our wildlife. Move like wildlife and get active outdoors - 30 Days Wild 2025
During week two of 30 Days Wild 2025, The Wildlife Trusts are encouragaging everyone to move like wildlife and get active outdoors. Find lots of ideas as to what you can do - whether you've 10 minutes, an hour or more.
Running a local campaign
If there is a development that significantly threatens wildlife, you may want to raise awareness and support by running a local campaign. Such campaigns can serve several purposes, such as encouraging more people to respond to the planning application and showing the level of concern to the developer and the planning authority.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund
The National Lottery Heritage Fund support has helped to reconnect thousands of people with nature and protect an amazing range of rare species in the UK and the remarkable landscapes they live in, including the pine marten; red squirrel; kingfisher and barn owl. Funding is also helping to re-wet peat bogs, restore mountain paths and create meadow habitats.
Natural Resources Wales
Wildlife Trusts Wales are thankful for the support of Natural Resources Wales to undertake work that fits with both organisational objectives. Both organisations have long aspired to the same aims of achieving a healthy and diverse environment where there are ample opportunities for people to enjoy it. We face huge environmental and economic challenges in these forthcoming years, and so the ability for our organisations to work together, share resources, and innovate becomes even more vital.
Reed bunting
A streaky brown bird, the reed bunting can be found in wetlands, reedbeds and on farmland across the UK. Males sport black heads and a white 'moustache'.

House sparrow
The house sparrow is a familiar, streaky brown bird of towns, parks and gardens. Males sport a grey cap and black bib, the size of which indicates their status.
Hedgehog Walk

From vast plains spreading across the seabed to intertidal flats exposed by the low tide, mud supports an incredible variety of wildlife.

The bearded tit is an unmistakable cinnamon-coloured bird of reedbeds in the south, east and north-west of England. Males actually sport a black 'moustache', rather than a beard!
