Deborah is Ulster Wildlife’s Nature Reserves Officer. Alongside a team of dedicated volunteers, she works to protect our special places to help both wildlife and people thrive.

Hedgehog Walk
Are you and your little ones ready to make a difference for wildlife? This spring, The Wildlife Trusts invites you to join The Hedgehog Walk! From 31st March to 13th April, take on the challenge of walking 3km while fundraising for wildlife along the way. With the support of Aardman and your favorite Timmy Time characters, you’ll not only enjoy the outdoors but also help create a safer world for hedgehogs, badgers, and more. Common blue damselfly
Living up to its name the Common blue damselfly is both very common and very blue. It regularly visits gardens - try digging a wildlife-friendly pond to attract damselflies and dragonflies.
Protecting our seas
For over a decade, The Wildlife Trusts have campaigned with other environmental organisations in the UK for new laws to provide better protection for marine habitats and wildlife. As a result, the ground-breaking Marine and Coastal Access Act (Marine Act) was introduced in November 2009, providing UK Government with the tools needed to revolutionise the management of our marine environment. Wildlife Trusts Wales are calling for the Marine Act to be effectively implemented in Wales, and the opportunities provided by the Act seized to ensure real benefits for biodiversity around the Welsh coast.

National Planning Policy
Planning is a devolved matter in Wales – meaning that Wales has its own primary planning legislation (the Planning (Wales) Act 2015), and that local planning authorities in Wales must comply with the plans and policies set by the Welsh Government.
Hope Week
Hope week is an online event taking place between November 6th and November 10th 2023. The purpose of Hope Week is to bring together young people from across the movement and beyond to enjoy workshops, talks and entertainment and to begin to form an online community of young people passionate about protecting nature and the climate.
