People's Postcode Lottery

People's Postcode Lottery are core partners of Wildlife Trusts Wales, providing vital support for a wide range of projects across Wales through the Postcode Green Trust.

Wildlife Trusts Wales has received over £657,470 from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery, which we distribute between the six local Wildlife Trusts in Wales, funding a wide range of conservation and education projects.

The six local Wildlife Trusts are able to continue delivering education opportunities and events for local communities and schools, as well as maintaining reserves and wildlife sites around the region, continuing our vital conservation work.

In North Wales they fund a marine conservation awareness programme with dozens of family events in the summer and work in schools over the winter.

In Montgomeryshire they help fund the People and Wildlife programme, taking disadvantaged groups onto reserves and developing skills by using nature and wildlife as an alternative to indoor work or schooling. Players also fund the dormouse monitoring programme on the Coed Pendugwm reserve

In Radnorshire they support a year round schools education programme and family events on reserves throughout the year.

In Brecknock the funding paid for a replacement vehicle to get staff and volunteers to their reserves across this mid-Wales county.

In Gwent the support helps pay for a reserves officer to oversee the maintenance of their 30 nature reserves across the county.

In South and West Wales the funding is helping restore a old cottage on the flagship Teifi Marsh reserve in Pembrokeshire and creating habitats for the rare Marsh Fritillary butterfly on two reserves in Ceredigion.
