Radnorshire Wildlife Trust's 'Exploring Gilfach HLF Project'

Radnorshire Wildlife Trust- stone carvings at Gilfach

The 'Exploring Gilfach HLF Project' was started by a small grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to Radnorshire Wildlife Trust to develop Gilfach.

The first stage of the project has already begun, with the second stage of the application to be put forward in March, with the hopes to begin the project in July. The project will run until the end of October 2018.

The project will improve facilities at Gilfach for visitors, including a new interpretation hub at Pont Marteg and in the byre. There will be improvements to the footpath, waymarking and facilities in the visitor centre. There are also plans to reach and provide activities for a wider range of people including disadvantaged groups.

The project will also raise the profile of lichen, moss, invertebrates and other less charismatic species, it will provide proper training as well as fun activities focussing on these species.

This fantastic project needs your help! Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have provided a small grant and HLF will provide 70% of the cost of the project, Radnorshire Wildlife Trust needs to raise £30,000 as match funding. Any donations are welcome and can be found on their website.
