Photographing birds of prey requires a range of skills and patience. On this course, you’ll learn which birds you can photograph and where and the techniques needed.

The day will involve meeting up at the ERC in Ebbw Vale, then continuing on to Silent Valley Nature Reserve SSSI to photograph native birds of prey. Birds will be posed in natural settings within the woodland.

Owls and other birds of prey from Ebbw Vale Owl Sanctuary will be on hand with their handlers to help you put this knowledge into practise. The choice of birds to be photographed will be made by the Owl Sanctuary on the day, but is likely to include Barn Owl, Tawny Owl, Little Owl, Buzzard and Kestrel.

The course is suitable for photographers with some experience. Led by ecological consultant and wildlife photographer, Chris Hatch.
